Last night, in conversation

about Michelle Obama dressing like a welfare queen with a stolen credit card:
“You just hate them so everything they do is bad”
No.

First of all, Michelle does dress like a welfare queen with a stolen credit card. To be fair, she has one photo where she is in a little black dress with pearls that makes her look ok, but I’ve yet to meet the woman who can’t pull off the little black dress.

No, I don’t think everything “They” do is bad because I hate them, and I don’t really even hate them, I just want them- and their type- to go away, preferably far away, and preferably forever.

I do hate what they stand for, and that is the truth. I don’t think everything they do is bad because I hate what they stand for; I hate what they stand for because everything they do is vile. I cannot find a redeeming feature of the Obamas, or any liberal- though I have tried bloody hard to do so.

Unlike hardcore liberals, I distribute my dislike where it is deserved, and I point it as much at republicans as I do at democrats; and I have never made any bones about that. Where both Bushes had their issues, they did do some pretty important good things, and even very bright people I know can’t figure that out.

No, with a shitty economy, skyrocketing energy prices, government sponsored greed and corruption at all levels, mind blowing deficit, healthcare system ready to go tits up, incremental assaults on our freedoms from all corners….

No. I don’t think everything democrats do is bad because I hate them. I hate them because everything they do is bad.

Last time, I wished for Ratso to get the nod.

I liked him then and i like him now. Oh, he has his moments, but he is a good man.

I remember some talk show host talking about some football player. A caller had asked “What do you think about X quarterback”? and the host said “he’s just a guy they got until they can get someone”
Ratso was that guy, I think. A good man, a decent man, and a placekeeper. A guy they got until they could get a guy.

I don’t think the Creator will let me pick two popes in a row, but if I could choose, it wouls be Raymond Cardinal Burke. This is the guy who told Kerry he should not receive communion because he was “Pro Choice” The guy who resigned his chairmanship of a hospital because they had Sheryl Crow sing at the benefit. He does seem to be one of the last principled cardinals of our age. And he catches some flak for it. Which I like.
