Arms race, explained
At Tam’s. Most good. Now with 43% more mayhem!
You should have seen what the bill was when they produced the first Trebuchet.
I made a small one last year at the Casa d’Og. It was made from PVC pipe, and worked OK, but it was only good for a couple pounds. I want at least a 15 maybe 20 lb trebuchet. Knockdown would be nice too. Wonder if I can get a retroactive government contract for R&D?

The boy and I built an eight footer (wooden) for his high school science class. We could chuck a brick about fifty yards with it.
Apply for summa dat stimulus money. What was the range on the 2-pounder? Maximum ideal range on your proposed 15-pounder?
Trebuchets are hot! I’d give a lot to own one :o
I liked this book:
The Art of the Catapult
Fiona, you can make one from a kit. Get one and take it to work, and throw ping ponmg balls at your co-workers!
I want to build one that instead of having the swinging basket/counterweight had the other end of the arm attached to a pivot in a curved track which was made of curved electromagnetic rails… Changing the range by adjusting the voltage…
Rail Trebuchet… (insert maniacal laughter here)
thinkgeek sells them pre made. put them together like lincoln logs. desk goodies type toys.
Get one and take it to work, and throw ping pong balls at your co-workers!
I wish. The most I dare risk here is rotating Zombieland/Fight Club quotes on my whiteboard
and even that’s iffy.
I’m thinking of making a catapult from some old garage door springs . . . that and about an 8 foot throwing arm. Cataloupes would probably make good ammo for it.
