I am wearing
a pair of Duluth Trading Company Buck Naked underwear.
So far they’re ok. I’m a FTL guy, myself. Problem with most mens drawers is no matter how well they fit when you put them on they’re floppy and sloppy by the time I get to work, and I’m tugging and yanking all day.
So far the only issue with these is traction, or rather lack therof. they’re a little slicker so i have to make the belt tighter or my pants fall down. Comes of being an old man with typical old man “hey where’d your ass go?” syndrome.
Anyway, these things are $26 a pair. I got them on sale for $13. I don’t know if my junk is really worth $13. I mean, I certainly treasure it but I need about two dozen pairs of drawers to keep from wearing them out so fast they burst into flames (An actual danger). So I’d have to have hundreds of dollars worth of drawers.
So I may have to order a few more pair to do more extensive testing.

I believe the syndrome you are referring to is “Male Pattern Ass Loss”.
Does banjo music play when you wear them?
they are about the best thing since slice bread in my opinion. 26 is a little steep, but things stay where they belong and not much extra sweat down south.
Good stuff. I am thinking about a pair of firehose pants next.
You inspired me to go to their site. I was last there ~5 years ago. Same-same: steep prices, and all of what I looked at said “imported.” If I’m going to pay a surcharge, the one I’ll pay is a made in the USA one. I’ll pay $45 for a Kromer cap and not a cheap knock-off since that yooper cap is still made in the UP. I still go New Balance for the same reason.
For cheap yet good “imported” underwear I’ll go to good ole dependable JC Penney Stafford. Thick cotton that outlasts everything except weight gain or fecal deluge, well sewn seams that won’t blow out, generous room for ballroom dancing, and you go there on a Saturday blowout sale and after like 9 discounts (who the heck stays in business with that retail model?) you’ll pay half the sticker price.
I switched from FTL to Haynes a few years ago, I found as the Fruits aged I became subject to the one-nut-escape. My wife usually buys me a couple packs for Christmas, as which time the most disreputable pairs get tossed.
If I ever win a large lottery, I will go to single-use undergarments (but especially socks). Wash when new (to get the itchy stuff off), wear once, wash, store until there’s a significant pile, and donate.
You should monitor that belt tightening. A belt that is too tight can lead to other internal problems and pains. If the belt doesn’t work for you any more, go with suspenders and keep the waistband comfortable.
Thanks. I’m a big guy, and frankly, belts are not my friend. I don’t have a “Belt friendly” physique. I’d rather cut myself in half than wear suspenders, and in any event I’d have issues carrying.
I like the Under Armour ones. :-)

I felt the same way about store bought walking sticks. Now that I have one, I wouldn’t go hiking without it. 30 years ago I felt that air conditioning in an automobile was a wasteful extravagance and power windows were a gimmick for rick people. Now I wouldn’t have a car without them. Sometimes change is good. Sometimes it is inevitable. Suspenders also help with that carry weight. you can still use a belt, you just don’t need to wear it tight.
Part of my issue with suspenders is the lack of decent quality ones. The other part is I’m not ready to be a geezer yet. Anothjer part is I’m still pretty fat, and the belt mostly rearranges the fat, it doesn’t mess with my internal organs (Just yet) and all the suspenders I’ve ever found just made things more uncomfortable. But I honestly appreciate the advice, and if I ever can, I will take it.
It took me a while to find some I liked. I don’t wear them often. If I am wearing a tool belt, I will use suspenders too to support the weight. My workshop suspenders are 2 inches wide.
yeah, I have a sam browne belt for my tools, otherwise they’d be around my ankles all the time
Would these work?

Problem is, John, anything merely elastic would have to have the pulling power of a set of old truck springs to make much difference.
Been wearing these for over a year and have yet to adjust the sliders, so they haven’t stretched yet.

Get the X back in 2″ width. My only problem is one of the back clips snagging a chair or something and getting flipped open: X back means you have a “spare” to hold until you can get the other re-clipped. Clips have a pin that can penetrate mill greens, and I use a key ring to open them when changing work pants, so it’s not like they are easy to pop open.
And American made!
Non-elastic suspenders have their own problems (I used to wear them when I was reenacting). You have to leave some space, because your pants ride up when you sit down and they will squash things that are better off left unsquashed.
