Little on earth
Would please the howling freaks on the left like an altercation in which one of them is harmed in a public and violent way. They are throwing thestupidest and most vulnerable into the fray hoping one of them ends up the next Phan Thi Kim Phuc.
The purpose of their violent demonstrations is simply this: To create an atmosphere in which ordinarily coolheaded people, fed up with the childishness, retaliate. And then that retaliation will be used by all who can to de-legitimize the right. It will take very little to make this happen. It took very little to turn the tide of war for North Vietnam- only a few cherrypicked photographs taken out of context, and the treachery of people like Walter Cronkite and John Kerry. And the punks who got their heads cracked at the Ann Arbor, Berkley, Kent State, and Washington protests are all teachers now, and infuse the mush they fill their students heads with, with the “Glorious” memories of their youths fighting back at the Man.
So there are many, many cattle waiting to be led to the slaughter. And they all hope to be slaughtered, and they all hope that you do it, and they all hope that they can use video clips of you doing it to demonize us all.
Just don’t.
I don’t have to tell most people about this, most of you already have it figured out. It’s very tempting to think of how easy it would be to defend yourself against these shit flinging monkeys, but that is what they want- no, what they need to accomplish their goals.
This is the point where we need to take a page out of Gandhi’s book. No, I’m not a huge fan of the skinny little naked pacifist shitbird. But he’s got it right here, and as unpleasant as it sounds, this is how we have to do this.
From On Nonviolent Resistance by Mohandas K. Gandhi
There are two ways of countering injustice. One way is to smash the head of the man who perpetrates injustice and to get your own head smashed in the process. All strong people in the world adopt this course. Everywhere wars are fought and millions of people are killed. The consequence is not the progress of a nation but its decline…Pride makes a victorious nation bad-tempered. It falls into luxurious ways of living. Then for a time, it may be conceded, peace prevails. But after a short while, it comes more and more to be realized that the seeds of war have not been destroyed but have become a thousand times more nourished and mighty. No country has ever become, or will ever become, happy through victory in war. A nation does not rise that way; it only falls further. In fact, what comes to it is defeat, not victory. And if, perchance, either our act or our purpose was ill-conceived, it brings disaster to both belligerents.
But through the other method of combating injustice, we alone suffer the consequences of our mistakes, and the other side is wholly spared. This other method is satyagraha. One who resorts to it does not have to break another’s head; he may merely have his own head broken. He has to be prepared to die himself suffering all the pain. In opposing the atrocious laws of the Government of South Africa, it was this method that we adopted. We made it clear to the said Government that we would never bow to its outrageous laws. No clapping is possible without two hands to do it, and no quarrel without two persons to make it. Similarly, no State is possible without two entities, the rulers and the ruled. You are our sovereign, our Government, only so long as we consider ourselves your subjects. When we are not subjects, you are not the sovereign either. So long as it is your endeavor to control us with justice and love we will let you do so. But if you wish to strike at us from behind we cannot permit it. Whatever you do in other matters, you will have to ask our opinion about the laws that concern us. If you make laws to keep us suppressed in a wrongful manner and without taking us into confidence, these laws will merely adorn the statute books. We will never obey them. Award us for what punishment you like, we will put up with it. Send us to prison and we will live there as in a paradise. Ask us to mount the scaffold and we will do so laughing. Shower what sufferings you like upon us; we will calmly endure all and not hurt a hair of your body. We will gladly die and will not so much as touch you. But so long as there is yet life in these our bones, we will never comply with your arbitrary laws.
Remember how much he accomplished.
“First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.”
Always remember we have the moral high ground. We have to keep it.

I’ve been to a lot of protests over the years (mostly of which was lost time I’ll never get back, incidentally), and I’ve never seen anyone trying to create a violent environment.
Actually, I saw a kid in a mask kick at a parking meter, but he was berated by other people at the protest pretty quickly.
Granted, that might be a function of my political activities taking place in Texas.
I hope the kind of confrontation we saw at Berkeley remains the rare exception.
Edit: Don’t have a TV at your house?
You’re right, of course.
But I still raised a cold beer to the guy who punched the dreadlocked porn video girl in the face.
“But Judge, he needed killin!”, said the cowboy in his defense.
Ghandi was right perhaps, in principle. But I won’t subscribe to his magazine while they’re trying to shove me into a camp or onto a railcar.
So, no. I won’t go join the riots, much as I enjoyed seeing the totalitarian left get it’s ass rightfully kicked.
And if we all stayed away, they’d indeed, look mighty silly trying to just raise hell among themselves.
But when they left-face-march the direction of that mob into my neighborhood, intending to do harm, they might just experience more such of that than they could enjoy.

Ghandi took a page from Jesus’s play book and used it.
I don’t think this situation quite matches what he did in south Africa and India as the ANTIFA is not the government. No matter how much they want to be.
I plan on staying away from any of their events, I just hope they stay away from me.
Indeed, on all counts. I have made a habit of avoiding situations where I endanger myself or others, and it has never been even remotely challenging. Keep your distance, don’t engage, find another entrance or exit, be smart. Not hard to be smarter than these idiots.
My concern is that like in many other places where the left caused itself a far right reaction, the left is spending all of its capital fighting against the “near (center) right,” the regular jamokes who find their traditions and institutions worth fighting for, then when the reaction comes, it’ll be from the right that even a lot of us conservatives fear. When they’re done ruining the religious right, they’re in for the non- and anti-religious right who will end the service and transportation disruptions that will be happening then, and that far right will do all the helicopter tossing they want without a care in the world. The commies caused all that disruption later blamed on the terms of the Versailles Treaty, and got the Nazis in. The generals didn’t take over Chile and Argentina because they were bored. Leftists caused a breakdown in law and order and the kidnappings put fear into everyone.
Go ahead antifa, keep it up. I have all the buttered popcorn I need for the show. You got to unleash your white hot hate upon pizza joints, cake bakers, and wedding photographers with impunity. Once you run up against the first hard core rightist who ran out of givadams, I’ll almost, almost, feel sorry for you.
Pacifism only works when your enemy has moral conditions on their use of power and those moral conditions prohibit your extermination if you refuse to fight.
Leftists have no absolute morals, it’s all relative to them, they change with the wind. Their emotions rule them.
And they want everyone that disagrees with them dead.
They refuse to submit to God so what makes anybody think they will submit to another human? It doesn’t matter whether that human is an agent of a lawfully instituted government or not.
This only leaves us with one conclusion and everyone that knows history and knows real human nature can see where it leads.
Either God will be with you so that you win and live or your earthly body returns to the earth. Either way you belong to God and inaction in the face of obvious evil is sin.
As to what each individual should do on a daily decision-by-decision basis, that’s what prayer and seeking the will of God is for.
The nonviolence of Ghandi/MLK was a lie. MLK had the Deacons for Defense and Justice which kept the KKK-LEO from killing his morality play actors aimed at the moderate Whites. Ghandi’s supporters outnumbered the British by 1,000:1 and rioted at every appearance, which the British couldn’t control.
When you hear “nonviolence”, think, ‘in the interest of expediency we’re giving up collecting reparations from the current bad actors’. Government schools distorted the Ghandi/MLK method which worked into a fantasy pacifist method which doesn’t.
Edit: Missed the point of what I was saying. And you were sooo close. And yet missed it so entirely.
Yeah, one needs to remember that the only reason Ghandhi as able to write his book and accomplish so much was because he was dealing with the Brits and not the Germans or the Japanese.
Like Athor and emdfl said.
I’ve heard this argument before. I wasn’t impressed then either. Neither was Harry Turtledove:

Edit: I wasn’t very impressed with Harry Turteldove either, so we’re even. And both you, and harry, miss the point.
While I agree, it STILL pisses me off to let them pull this crap and hurt people!

Somebody is complaining about being outed by the other guys.
Agent J said it right to the bug
“Don’t start nuthin’ won’t be nuthin'”
Rich, exactly.
Y’all need to study your Gandhi. He was a great tactician. And the “Nonviolence” was a great show. And not how things went down in point of fact. But he never got caught.
