Six days on the road…
And I am finally home. Got to ge the cycle license straightened out today, get the lawn mowed (way overdue) get in some quality time with the daughter, and then MAYBE, after all that, I can get on my own bike and ride.
I noticed myself doing things this week, things I never did before. Braking in front of a curve so I could accellerate through it. Watching for sand and loose gravel. Thinking about lane position. Wishing I was on the bike. Feel it too? How ’bout you, Dick? Got that bike picked out?
Actually, sort of.
My last 3 bikes have been 1500 Vulcan Classics. (they’ve yet to strand me) This time I’m leaning toward the Yamaha. http://www.starmotorcycles.com/star/products/modelhome/17/0/home.aspx
I’d love to own a Harley, really I would, but I refuse to pay that kind of money for a bike.
I won’t pull the trigger to buy a new one for a few months though. The house is pretty much eating any spare cash I have.
I hear you. If I get used to the Suzuki, I’m thinking about a Volusia. Nice looking bikes. I also LOVE the Moto Guzzi Jackal.
Just remember that when you do break down and go out to buy a new scoot, think of the two person factor.
Anything under about 1500 cc’s is damn near worthless with two up.
Ya have to think about Mama.
Mono shock rear suspensions also suck with two up, but there’s plenty of aftermarket shocks available to cure that problem.
Don’t know about needing 1500cc’s two up. Depends on the style of bike, I suppose. My bike is only a 900 and it handles two people comfortably at up to 200k’s an hour.
I’mn the world’s biggest klutz. I’m sure there will be two bikes in the interim before I decide I’m good enough to carry a passenger.
I was thinking cruiser Dirk. I can’t really picture Og on a crotchrocket.
