Cold, misty rain, turning leaves. <\/p>\n<p>A melancholy comes on me when the season turns like this, a deep blue funk that bears down on me for three or four days, and never completely releases it&#8217;s grip until the first fresh mow of spring. I&#8217;ve buried a lot of folks in fall weather, carried boxes to holes in the ground covered with papery oak leaves and browning grass. I&#8217;m reminded not so much of my own mortality but the mortality of everything. <\/p>\n<p>We all are born, live, die. Many of us make a mark. Some of us make a mark worth looking at.
