And something else: the ability to do good work even at a young age and not be a goddamned drama queen about it. <\/p>\n<p>Mr Alger and i have had this discussion before. The &#8220;tortured artist&#8221; types who invent their own drama so they can &#8220;suffer for their art&#8221; drive you nuts. <\/p>\n<p>Sure, there were artists whose private lives were full of trouble and it affected their art- but it&#8217;s like Charlie Parker&#8217;s heroin addiction. Heroin wasn&#8217;t what made Charlie great. imitating Charlie by shooting heroin didn&#8217;t make you a great Jazz musician. And creating suffering for yourself doesn&#8217;t make you a great artist. It just makes you an asshole. <\/p>\n<p>Good for you, Wendy.
