I left Kim & Connie’s place, having already darkened their door for longer than I should, and hit the road for parts unknown.<\/p>\n

I sort of had a vague plan for stopping by to say hello to AnvilBoy<\/a>, but he was working, and it ended up being 500 miles out of my way, so i stopped, got a room, and prepped to move on in the morning. <\/p>\n

Now, I have stayed in a thousand hotels. Maybe more. The worst, bar none, was in Bay minette Alabama- a Holiday Inn that had lost their franchise, and was just an ” Inn”. <\/p>\n

Outside of Tulsa, though, I found one that was damned close.<\/p>\n

No, it didn’t hasve bugs or nastiness, in fact it was fairly clean, but man, did it have issues.<\/p>\n

First, the door didn’t have a lock. <\/p>\n

No, really. Anyone walking up could just walk right in. <\/p>\n

So I took out the Schmidt Rubin, and jammed the heel under the leg of the bed, and the muzzle under the door handle. I put 120 lbs of ammo in front of the door, and put the 45 on the nightstand.<\/p>\n

I slept like a baby, why do you ask? <\/p>\n

Anyway, I hadn’t even looked in the crapper. I peed before bed, with the lights off, but I didn’t even see the bathroom before I turned in. Maybe I would have driven on in search of another hotel.<\/p>\n

Turns out they’d had some damp-drywall issues. Dick, if you think you’ve had some bubba’ed stuff, wait till you see this

Seems the drywall had rotted, and the proprietor had “fixed” it by SCREWING PIECES OF CARDBOARD OVER THE BAD DRYWALL. <\/p>\n

The cardboard was from some kind of appliance or something, and it looked like it had been sprayed wiht some kind of waterproofing compound. <\/p>\n
