I’ve moved less organized people, so this wasn’t bad- but a day spent dragging someone’s household up and down stairs wasn’t as fun as I’d hope. Still, I’m not nearly as stiff and sore as I might have expected. I DID take my Ibuprofin before I began. And my favorite moving day song<\/a> ran through my head all day. <\/p>\n

Give it to the Salvation Army or the Goodwill,

\nDon’t throw that away, it’s a family heirloom,

We’re gonna empty out our old place
\nAnd move into a brand-new better space
\nWe got the books and the records and the tapes and the pictures
\nAnd the pots and the pans and all the breakable glass<\/p>\n

The living room couch and the dining room table,

\nThe TV and the home entertainment center,
\nThe box spring and a queen-size bed
\nThe Christmas decorations and the bureau and the playpen,
\nIf we had a piano, I think I’d drop dead<\/p>\n

At the end of the day, the old place is empty
\nAnd the new place houses all of our stuff
\nHunt back all the crap in the cardboard boxes,
\nIt wasn’t that bad, it wasn’t that rough
\nBut my strong buddies look a little bit grumpy,
\nI don’t know why, I broke my butt,
\nTomorrow we’ll call up the telephone company
\nAnd get another set of house keys cut.<\/p>\n
