There are still plenty of Turkey leftovers to deal with, and since it was such a nice bird to begin with it’s very easy to think about eating it in coming days. <\/p>\n
Partner and I reflected on the days when he would visit and have turkey at our house, then go have dinner at his house, and then go have dinner at a friend’s house. Three gigantic meals- all the families cooking extra just for us. We ate like swarms of locusts. And the next day, we’d be back to our same weight. There were no leftovers. The toilets would gag; our cars smelled like turkey farts for the rest of winter, lacking enough warm to keep the windows open for any time. And then we’d sing the Thanksgiving song, to the tune of “Roundabout”<\/p>\n
I’ll make the rounds of dinners
\nAs diners we’re the real winners
\nI’ll spend the day dining away
\nCall it munching chewing slurping doing
\nAnything to eat it……<\/p>\n
Our stomachs bloat and distend
\nunder the weight, our leg bones bend
\nI’ll spend the day dining away

In and around the feast
\nGluttons go back to their rooms
\nand they lay there
\nFull of turkey, pie, and dressing
\nlater on our pant’s we’re messing
\nfarting too
\nTwenty four before my stomach I’ll be
\nbloated too!<\/p>\n
