Spent a bit of time this afternoon with partner and Ed Hering. We hit the Crown Point gun show, then came back and went to the range. Ed brought to shoot a positively pristine Mossy 44, which makes me insanely jealous, and he can shoot it pretty well; offhand at 50 yards he was keeping them all in the 7 ring or below, having hardly ever shot a firearm in his life. He even did OK with his little Astra. He will need a lot more remedial range time, but i think he’ll do fine. He sure did the “beginner’s luck” thing all too painfully well, I wish when I started I could shoot as well as he did out of the gate. <\/p>\n
Of course he has eyes several years younger than mine, so I’m sure that didn’t hurt either. All in all, a nice day. partner and I assailed him at times with our wicked wierd sense of humor, but he didn’t jump out of the car screaming, so I guess it must not have been too bad. It’s always nice to have a new shooter, and Ed is a natural born gun nut. We take Partner’s girlfriend next weekend, we hope, and we’ll see how things go there. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
