Imagine that! And then started reassembling the stupid thing WITHOUT the dust guard in place, to Eds amusement. he stopped me before I got very far, but it was clear what I was doing.

Anyway, it’s all together now, and I’ve also discovered I need to put new plugs and wires in the 99, but that was much to be expected. The bearings I could hear, the plugs and wires I merely suspected. Now I know. And I also know what I’m doing next weekend.

The previous owner had installed- or caused to be installed- new wheel bearings. Except that he hadn’t tightened them properly. So they loosened up, and what was essentially a brand new spindle bearing was hosed. Dumbasses.

Anyway. That was my sunday, if you throw in some dog poop raking.

On that subject: the dog goes outside on a pegged leash to do his business, and there’s one small area of this that he eschews. Is it dog poop resistant grass? Maybe I should try to cultivate that.

Also, for anyone who hasn’t heard this yet, because you’ve been living under a rock since 1965, Joe Walsh sings “Ordinary Average Guy”, the song that was tops in it’s category for mention of Dog Poop.

So I knew the 99 sploder had some issues with front wheel bearings, I ordered a new set week before last and today I put them in.
