And those fruit would be so good, and then you&#8217;d eat it for the week and a half it was good, and get sick to death of it.<\/p>\n<p>Frozen fruit does usually not thaw well, and canned stuff often has lots of added sugar and shit<\/p>\n<p>So when Alton Brown did smoothies  on Good Eats, I figured it was worth a try<br \/>\nAnd it was. I buy fresh frozen fruit at Aldi, where it&#8217;s cheap. I put it in a mixer at night, in the fridge, with some juice and skim milk. And in the morning I blend it and drink it.<br \/>\nDamn, this stuff is good. And the soluble fiber- well, let&#8217;s just say I&#8217;m just an old smoothie.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Update:<\/strong> Some things that are good in smoothies:<\/p>\n<p>Bananas<br \/>\nBlueberries<br \/>\nBlackberries<br \/>\nRaspberries<br \/>\nstrawberries<br \/>\npeaches<br \/>\npears<\/p>\n<p>Some things that are NOT good in smoothies<br \/>\nAvocado<br \/>\nGreen beans<br \/>\nTomatoes<br \/>\nGreen peppers<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.willitblend.com\/videos.aspx?type=unsafe&#038;video=golfballs\">Golf balls<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The trouble is, good fresh fruit is only really fresh and good in a brief window, and in season.
