Grew up only a few miles from here, back when Gary Indiana hadn&#8217;t gone the way of Detroit. <\/p>\n<p>God Bless him. I don&#8217;t know from football, but i liked his acting. Particularly I liked him as Hughie Rae Feather in &#8220;The 500 lb Jerk&#8221;, an old made for TV movie where Karras goes for olympic gold via weightlifting. Of course as Mongo, he ruled (Another one of those thousands of hidden easter eggs in &#8220;Blazing Saddles&#8221;).<\/p>\n<p>The last I remember him being in was Victor Victoria, and he was damned good in that too. Well, I assume so, I was too busy drooling over Julie Andrews (I STILL have a thing for that woman)<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, we also just lost Arlen Sphincter. <\/p>\n<p>Wish they coulda taken Arlen and Dick Durban, and left us Mongo for a few more years. Karras was involved in the suit over head injuries in football, and I imagine his contributed to his demise. Godspeed, Mongo.
