I was hardcore until about twenty years ago, and then my interest just dropped off. I have since then been far more interested in murder mystery and alternate histories, and frankly the SF stuff that was out there&#8230; well it wasn&#8217;t changing very much. No  matter what I read, it seemed I had read it somewhere before, and the before read was better, having been done by one of the old masters. <\/p>\n<p>I was also annoyed by the sheer leftism of a large segment of the genre. While I grew up loving Vonnegut, I later learned to despise his pacifism even in the midst of the things he&#8217;d been through. If you saw the horrors of Nazi Germany with your own eyes, and you still think there&#8217;s no good reason to fight, you&#8217;re the kind of idiot that epic poems are written about. <\/p>\n<p>So it was with some surprise that I read <a href=\"http:\/\/larrycorreia.wordpress.com\/2012\/11\/11\/there-i-go-offending-people-again\/\">this piece<\/a> by Larry Correia.<\/p>\n<p>A man who can rant like that deserves my attention.
