This weekend started with prom friday. The Oglet had a grand time, and when the fuck did I get so old?
\nSaturday morning, the Oglet has a fencing tournament- which she would have aced but for losing the thumbnail. She came back to the table and cried a bit, part from the throbbing pain, part from the disapointment. <\/p>\n
She had had her nails done for the Prom, so they were thick and rigid, otherwise I don’t think this would have happened. She was in some distress but there isn’t anything anyone can do. <\/p>\n
So she asked for some electrical tape, I put a piece of gauze over the nail so the tape wouldn’t stick there and be hard to remove, and wrapped it tight, and she went back and fenced the final bout. She did third despite being injured. <\/p>\n
Saturday afternoon consisted mostly of chasing parts and putting a new power steering pump in the optometrist’s car. <\/p>\n
Sunday was “Mow the damned lawn and get some more work done in the kitchen” day, and I installed another electrical outlet which allowed me to move the fridge, then moved the fridge, then hooked up the icemaker, then mowed the lawn, then good lord almighty am I tired.
