Today at our club we had an Africa shoot. THink we had ten shooters, but this was the first time. We had fullsize sillouettes of lion, kudu, impala, warthog, cape buffalo, plus a cape buffalo front on which ‘Charged” you, and you had to shoot it WITH a reload. <\/p>\n

Bugger, that was fun. A lot of guys with big thumping 45-70 rifles, one guy with a beautifully engraved Chapuis in 458 WinMag. I shot the 45-70, as I didn’t have the round count for the match in 500 nitro. (took twenty rounds) I placed third, for which I got this trophy!!

Of course I didn’t shoot for a trophy or anything, I shot because it was a hoot to shoot. Everyone had a great time and the RO was on his game. They set the firing line up to look like a dambo in all five stages. Here’s stage one:
