Most of us in the midwest associate <a href=\"http:\/\/www.paulharvey.com\/\">Paul<\/a> with the Farm Report and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.radiohof.org\/newstalk\/orionsamuelson.html\">Orion Samuelson<\/a>. (on the local stations here, you got one, then the other). A lot of coffee shops in the heartland would buzz with discussions of the two shows, every morning. Yeah, he&#8217;s about a million years old. Yeah, his method of mixing ads with news and commentary is unusual and perhaps, to some, annoying. <\/p>\n<p>To me, he&#8217;s a reminder of the time I spent growing up, the show was most often heard in the truck, next to Dad as we drove to or from hunting, or fishing, or fixing someone&#8217;s house or car, or rescuing someone from some situation or another. <\/p>\n<p>Sitting in the truck, listening to Paul, the smell of dad&#8217;s pipe and the liver brittany Ginger that was a common companion, heater hot on my shins and window cold against my head as I dozed, those moments are my firmest memories of being with Dad. When Paul goes, those last memory triggers will be gone.
