And then we got one, and the border collie ate it before I could damage it.

So a couple years back the wife got one of these at the local Aldi. I don’t remember how much it cost but it wasn’t much. They sell them at Kohls too.

And it’s perfect. You are responsible for turning it on, of course, but my usual method is to turn it on, get my shower in, and dry off- shortly thereafter the bed is toasty warm. It has dual controls and the wife can set her side differently. it’s under the fitted sheet so there’s no danger of me winding it up. We used it for two years, and it failed. We sent it back, and they sent us a brand new one under warranty.

It is great to be able to keep the house cool, and be warm in bed. Of course it makes it harder to pry my ass out of bed, but that’s not all that bad.

I wish they were Made in USA so I could put them on the website, but they are not, so far as I can tell. It is an American company and they do warrant and support the product, but the product is apparently imported. So if you ever wanted to crawl into a warm bed but still use your own blankets, this is for you.

I am not a fan of electric blankets.
