The X ring on these targets is 1/2″ diameter.

The Mark II is possibly one of the finest shooting out of the box 22s I’ve ever shot, and I shot a lot before deciding on this. There are a lot of folks who would say, the Browning Buckmark is more pistol, nicer, etc., and they’d be right. The Buckmark is a great pistol! It’s also a LOT more money, in a heavy barrel version. Almost $100 more than I paid for this.

Here’s the tradeoff: the Ruger is about half stamped steel, pound for pound, where the Browning is an all machined pistol (though machined from an investment casting, IIRC. ) The critical parts of the Ruger are all finely machined, and look as though they’ve been lapped in place; the bolt is such a good fit it feels like it has bearings, I spent a couple minutes LOOKING for bearings. They aren’t there, it’s just that smooth. By the way, the same is true of the Ruger 22/45. The critical parts are all machined, and the grip/etc, is plastic, a good low cost compromise, a nice entry level 22.

The trigger breaks like glass. Ruger has always made nice pistols out of the box, and it’s made in the USA. Nuff Said.

Spoons asked me this, and I am pleased to report, the answer is “wow”.
