My boss’s father made a tuckpointing gadget – a mortar hopper attached to a screw that pushed the mortar out of a tip. Load up the hopper, attach a cordless drill to the screw and start tucking.
Sort of like a mechanized pastry bag. Sped up the process a TON.

I hate ladders. Especially any that are taller than I am.
Kurt – if you want to make ’em, knock yourself out. He didn’t patent it and he’s passed away now. Heh, and I’m not much of an entrepreneur.
If I remember correctly, just just used the screw from a sausage grinder.
I knocked it out in just under three hours, including the chipping out and replacement.
The new little Hitachi compressor did great.
