oops, I did it again
In the TV season of 69-71, there was a little depatie-freleng toon that went by the name of “The Ant and The Aardvark”. The voices, which sounded like Jackie Mason and Dean Martin were actually both done by John Byner.
Today, I was stripping down out of my jeans and the 4″ crescent wrench I keep in my back pocket fell out and landed in just about the same damned place on my left toe that it had previously landed on my right.
The wrench was open about 1/4″, and the bruise on my toe looks very much like the mark you’d expect that tiny aardvark mouth to make, if it were to bite your toe.
I’m often surprised I can make it through a day.
I loved the way the aardvark’s mouth moved, way down at the end of his snout!
That was on theater screens in 72-73. The children’s theater thing I was involved in at that time played cinemas — for lack of a better venue — and we were always supported by 20 minutes of cartoons. I saw that thing an awful lot that winter.
Loved it.

WASN’T THAT PART OF THE PINK PANTHER SHOW?
Man, I LOVED that ‘toon!
Yeah, the Cartoon Network usually shows it in the Pink Panther Show.
Wadn’t it great? I loved the whole premise, which was baldly stolen from Wile E Coyote
Okay, because someone’s gotta say it…. Quoting Brigid:
“Did you call a toe truck?”
Whole bunch of the cartoons here:

Hope it takes your mind off the wrench bite.

OMG. I’d totally forgotten about that show. Now I’m not even sure if I really remember it, or just the name. (I’m of 1970 vintage, btw.)
