But, it’s for the CHILDREN!!!
Well, that’s horseshit, pure and simple. Not to overcomplicate the issue, let’s look at one thing and one thing only.
Swimming pools.

Drowning is the leading cause of death for infants
and young children between the ages of 1-4 (U.S.
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2007)
OK, what about as they get older?
Excerpt:
Drowning is the second-leading cause of unintentional
injury deaths in children aged 1-14 years. (U.S. Centers

Soooo, if we’re really looking at what’s good for children, we’re gonna get rid of all those swimming pools, right?
Take that link, print that page, and keep several copies on hand. When some anencephalic brat decides to lecture you on gun safety, ask them if thye have a swimming pool. Then hand them that sheet. And call them a CHILD MURDEROR.
best of all, Pools are very efficient at killing. You don’t have to do anything with them, all they have to do is be there, and kids die. and there are less than nine million of them in the US. There are at least 300 million guns in the US, and the proportion of them being used in the death of children is statistically invisible. You want children not to die? empty those pools. That’ll do more actual good than any other single thing you can do.
No, it’s not about children, or even saving lives. It’s about controlling people you don’t like.

I’ve been saying this for years. The CDC says that, on average, just under 400 children younger than 11 die every year by drowning in backyard swimming pools. That’s one EVERY DAY. Year in year out one little kid per day.
And don’t forget, that privately owned backyard swimming pools are the assault weapons of swimming pools. No one NEEDS their own swimming pool. Public pools where you can wade in the filth of all those strangers with third world hygiene habits is good enough for everyone.
And then rinse off in a public bath house /changing room. All very “collectivey”.
Empty the pool!!!!, EMPTY THEM!!!! holee crap nuggets man, do you want child deaths due to falling to skyrocket, Think these things thru they must be destroyed, melted down with fire and steamrollered, and then buried never again be a scourge on the face of the earth.
And we can use google earth to find them, all of them……
I am going out in the backyard right now to blow my lurking dihydrogenous-oxide murder machine right now…..
Keep your eye on the paper…….
roflmao.
well done sir!
Og, I agree completely that drowning kills more kids than guns. However, you are jumping to a conclusion that I fear is unwarranted. A drowning death in the 1 to 4 age group does not require a swimming pool, unless I live in a mansion with two indoor pools.
BATHTUBS MUST ALL BE DESTROYED! AND TOILETS!!
At least once a year some kid “on the spectrum” (as we now call kids with autism, apparently, according to my wife) ends up drowning or damn near so in a runoff pond.
But there’s no requirement to fence them to prevent this kind of accident. Pools do have that requirement, why not runoff ponds?
Think of the children. And build storm sewer systems that can handle sufficient capacity to obviate the need for kid-attracting ponds. (They also attract those damn Canada geese that we’re not allowed to shoot. Damn it.)
“But those things have uses other than killing!”
That’s the answer you always get from the anti-gun crowd when you mention all the things which kill many, many more people than guns do: cars, knives, bathtubs, Big Macs, whatever.
So, all those things are broken? Oh. You mean all those people are MORONS.
And ban five gallon buckets. What toddler can read the warning not to lean into it. And the pictogram? One may think that leaning over the edge is something he or she should be doing – they don’t instinctively know the circle slash is international for “don’t.”
If that Richard Cranium really wanted to make a statement about saving the children, he’d go to a large class AAAAA high mega-school and have the student body on the bleachers. Then he could say, “Every year, we abort enough children to fill these stands as you are doing today. 3500 children who did nothing to anyone, but be. Children with faces, with names, with life stories, no different from you, if only someone didn’t pull them to pieces out of the womb. Today, I have asked Vice President Biden to head a Blue Ribbon panel to see what we need to do to bring a sensible end to the practice of assault abortion clinics.”
