The upside
to a saturday morning of puking in a bucket was the discovery of Frog Togs.
Frog Togs are a waterproof outer shell that breathe, and damn, are they comfy.
I didn’t use them on the fishing trip, but I did use them yesterday mowing the lawn. The ones I have are these, which are inexpensive and fold up to fit in the pocket of a big pair of jeans. I would expect these would be ass kicking emergency motorcycle wear. In any event I wore them in the rain mowing, and while I never had the need of them fishing, they did a great job mowing, and I’m glad I bought them. I may go out and invest in a better suit for hunting.
made in china, but at least made well. And a hell of a damned sight more comfortable than the PVC crap I usually end up with.
Frogg Toggs are well known in Goldwing circles…at least the circles I used to ride in.
Only problem I have with them is catching my size in stock.
Wish I’d had a set for the ride home from Detroit a couple of years ago – Ft Wayne IN to Des Moines IA in rain. Took a week for my leathers to dry.
I keep a vacuum packed set in saddle bag.
For a just in case the ride turns real rainy and my real rainsuit is on its hanger back home.
Son, being up in the ‘wet as hell all the damn time’ part of the country, got a set of these, plus the boots, for his biking; says they work damn well.
The boots, by the way, fit over your shoes/boots and have an actual sole.
I’ve had a pair for the last couple of years and just bought a second pair. Not because he first set died but because 1 is none and 2 is one. They paid for themselves and then some the very first time I used them. Instructing at an Appleseed shoot in Dubuque. Raining and in the thirties all weekend with a few moments of sleet thrown in. Frogg Toggs, a pair of wellies from the farm store, a polar fleece pullover, and a good hat and I was perfectly comfortable all weekend.
One of the few products I will go out of my way to endorse.

Og, would you mind dropping me a note via this addy? Iris and I will be in Chicago for a weekend in June, and I’d like to ask some local knowledge of you.
And, offer to buy you & fambly a nice dinner, too.
Thanks in advance!

Hope you are feeling better. With the a.c. crapping out and the drain to the washer in the basement getting clogged and pouring water everywhere, the weekend here didn’t turn out as planned. We will do the polish buffet another time when you are better, no one is working and all is aligned with the stars.
