Three offers.
Three jobs. Three friends. Three really good opportunities. One with lots of travel and moving around, which appeals to my innate wanderlust. One which is all work from home and minimal travel, but which offers me the freedom to work an 8 hour day and have 16 hours to myself which takes the commute out of the equation; for the first time in thirty years I would be home at a reasonable hour every day and have zero commute. A third which would give me complete control over the automation of an entire rapidly growing facility.
I want to keep all three, like a pound full of puppies. I don’t want to disappoint anyone. I have about a week to choose.

I don’t know whether to say ‘prayers’ or “Pick whichever you most want, as you’ve damn well earned it.”
I feel your pain.
I was looking at a few proposals.
One I was excited over, until I saw the 90 minute drive. Others had travel.
Then a contractor friend gave me a number of a guy and I gave him a call.
Next night I had an offer.
Hope I made the right choice.
I pray you do to.
As a Consultant you might actually take all three offers.
Retainer fee to start then hourly billing, plus expenses for travel.
It may work out very well for you.
You know, I did consider that but felt that I would not be able to do them justice. I may take one and contract another.
Now that is great news … and I like the potential spin you put on it. You’ll be busier than the proverbial one-armed paperhanger, but you’re used to that, no?
Congratulations! Looking forward to hearing your verdict and all about your new adventures.

choices are always good. The home one would be the hardest to get full time on. The commute one would get hard after a while. The one in charge could be interesting. at least the mistakes would be your own there. That would be the challenge, I think.
Not that I have any insight.
I’m so pleased that your opportunities are wide open like this. Then again, you have a lot of people praying for you.
I know you’ll make the right choice, regardless of what you choose.
Great news. Travel gets old. #s 2 and 3 are the ones to choose from. I’d rather come home to my wife and dogs. At my age (59) I’d probably choose 2 but your mileage may vary.
I’m reminded of a grizzled olde knight, in an ancient vault full of chalices…..
“Chose…wisely!”
And I’ve no doubt, that you will.
Early congrats, too, by the way!

Look at each from the point of view of which you would enjoy the most doing and at the same time does not wring you out at 10 hour days to get it done.
Door three sounds like the most responsibly and probably money, but knowing facilities management, it will be the one with highest time and stress. The other two sound less stressful, so which of 1 and 2 makes the heart sing?
Great news. Best wishes which ever way you go!
Og, glad to hear it. Sorry I’ve been scarce lately for various reasons, mostly to do with being sick and tired (but not “sick and tired”). Best of luck in your new direction(s).
…Praying…
Your post got me to thinking (bad idea ;o) and I had to go add to one of my older postings.
Time wears heavily.
