At the movies

Dick just watched Bubba HoTep on my reccomendation, and found it amusing. Not the funniest movie on earth, but a good, funny movie. Got me thinking, what’s my list? I’m not big on lists and etc, but the funniest movies I ever saw? Here they are.

Blazing saddles. If this isn’t the funniest thing you ever saw, your sense of humor is broken.
Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Nuff said.
Eating Raoul. A small, and extraordinarily wry film.
Life of brian. Python, whattya want?
Pink Flamingoes. OK, you have to be warped to like this movie. But it’s a great.
Young Frankenstein
Animal House
Slingblade. I don’t know if that is supposed to be funny, but I laughed and laughed and laughed.
Bubba Ho-Tep may not be in the top, but it’s well worth a watch. If you haven’t seen all of these films, consider it; well, maybe save Pink Flamingoes.

Pink flamingoes is…… Well, it’s a filthy movie, about a filthy couple trying to out-filthy another couple. If you can sit through this movie, you have lost all sense of propriety.

Now THAT’s a rainstorm

When the lightning wakes you up at 4:30, and the dog (normally immune to noise) goes apeshit and crawls under the blankets, you know it’s raining. Nice.

Okay, I did it.

I took my MSF course last fall, and got my license. And all this year, so far, I’ve been hesitant about riding. I’m still a rank newbie, without any appreciable skills. I have been making excuses for some time now. I should probably get new tires. I should get a helmet that fits better. I ought to make sure it runs perfectly, yadda yadda, yadda. And the summer is slipping by, day by day.

SO last night I inspected the tires. No dry rot. Still pretty much full of air, so no appreciable leaks. I tire-foam ’em and they clean up OK, look ok. Tonight I just decided I’d procrastinated enough. I went to Wal-Mart and spent $83 and bought a helmet. Should do fine, because I only have an $83 wal-mart head. Anyway, I drove it. Yeah, I still have some futzing to do with the carbs. I should get someone who knows more to tune it for me. I haven’t even taken it a mile out of my neighborhood, this year.

But I rode.

it felt good. I’m still a little scared. Later, I expect to be a LOT scared. But I rode.
