Diane Gow-Hillyer

I have heard, and delivered, many eulogies. Thankfully, I was spared this one. I doubt I would have had the reserve to speak to the life of this woman. The eulogy was delivered as part of the mass, said by longtime Hillyer family friend Fr Steve LaCroix. Even he nearly lost it.

Not much can really be said, other than to the family and friends of Diane Gow-Hillyer, this is a horrible loss.

Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her.

In which I mourn my wife’s sister in law and thank the lord for routine maintenance and divine providence.

Well, I’m rested and the Ogs are home and safe and sound, but man, what a weekend.

We drove up Thursday night through Port Huron. On the way, the Exploder hit a milestone.

Good to be home.

Long, sorrowful weekend, involving the prerequisite mourning as well as two blizzards, at least two near- accidents where the Ogwife saved all our lives due to her Canada-honed driving skills, and enormous headaches. And not enough sleep. Etc. More tomorrow, after some sleep.
