Merry Christmas!

My Christmas wish? to be able to continue to rant and rave and converse with the likes of you. Y’all have made my year worthwhile in a lot of ways, and I hope I’ve made some of you grin.

You’d better not pout!

Norad will redirect santa somewhere else.

It all starts with the NORAD radar system called the North Warning System. This powerful radar system has 47 installations strung across Canada’s North and Alaska. NORAD makes a point of checking the radar closely for indications of Santa Claus leaving the North Pole on Christmas Eve.

Paul Harvey

Is, to the detriment of his detractors, not dead yet! and not bloody likely to go on the cart for along time.

Those who know him personally know that he is a consummate gentleman. Most of us in the midwest associate Paul with the Farm Report and Orion Samuelson. (on the local stations here, you got one, then the other). A lot of coffee shops in the heartland would buzz with discussions of the two shows, every morning. Yeah, he’s about a million years old. Yeah, his method of mixing ads with news and commentary is unusual and perhaps, to some, annoying.

To me, he’s a reminder of the time I spent growing up, the show was most often heard in the truck, next to Dad as we drove to or from hunting, or fishing, or fixing someone’s house or car, or rescuing someone from some situation or another.

Sitting in the truck, listening to Paul, the smell of dad’s pipe and the liver brittany Ginger that was a common companion, heater hot on my shins and window cold against my head as I dozed, those moments are my firmest memories of being with Dad. When Paul goes, those last memory triggers will be gone. Stick around a while, Mr Harvey.

Oh, and by the way, he REALLY annoys liberals.
