While the Stupor Bowl was on

Partner and I were eating in a restaurant where we were very nearly the only patrons. Primarily, because they didn’t have a TV.

As I have often repeated, if it doesn’t involve the arrival of something dead at my house, I don’t consider it a sport. I don’t get it and I never will. Even the commercials were lame, this year. And it was the most watched game in history, apparently.

The girls at the hotel are being smartasses. They pointed the shower head out so when I turned on the water the whole bathroom got drenched. Glad I was already naked.

They moved my room next to the Fitness room because my snoring was keeping other guests awake.

Most of yesterday, I spent ressurecting a machine that should have been left to die many years ago.
I have no earthly idea why it’s still working. It was a horrible machine to begin with and now it’s a horrible old machine full of worn out parts and crap, but it keeps soldiering on. Proving that beauty and intellect are rare and fleeting, and ugly and ignorant are eternal.

From partner, at lunch yesterday

In relation to the falling snow, and the mind numbing soul draining misery it brings:

“Sometimes, I fantasise that it’s the white ash of nuclear fallout, mixed with superheated bone fragments and teeth”

Sometimes, I want to go to Partner’s happy place.

Bring on the blizzard!

Jodi Weis, the superintendant of police in Chicago, points out that for 48 hours in Chicago, there were no shootings!

Scrotumhead. TYhe rest of the civilized nation goes weeks withjout a shooting, because everywhere else, people are armed, and the would be criminals know it.

Look: There are always going to be three types of shooting that just won’t stop:

1: The shooting that involves an unlicensed pharmaceutical transaction gone bad
2: The shooting that involves someone whose cheese has slid off their cracker
3: The shooting that involves a physical /emotional entanglement with an unauthorized other man or other woman, often ocurring through an open window through which one or the other is climbing.

The case can be made quite effectively that #3 and #2 should be combined into one category.

Criminals are more inventive, creating new types of shootings (The carjacking, the home invasion, the liquor store holdup) wherever a vacuum of armed individuals exist. You can confine the shootings to the top three, for the most part, if you just allow individuals to be armed.

Cock Daley and his cronies know this; there is no question that they understand it. They don’t care; they know where the illegal guns are, and they know they can control them. If there were legal guns around, the pop. of Chicago might not be so docile and easily led around by their noses. And that is the whole point. Everyone knows it. Who would raise taxes and support so much graft and corruption where all the citizens were armed?

I expect Jodi Wiese to try to figure out how to make it be the snowpocalypse every day.
