Allegro Non Troppo

Pascal links to this Bruno Bozzetto film, a segment of which is shown here on Youtube:

The allegory is wonderful, and it can be applied remarkably well to the current situation, and it echoes my desires quite well. The lead character (Mr Big Ears himself) wanders through a lot of different changes, which everyone follows, eventually with an almost military precision, until he’s so tired of being aped he tries (by example) to get all his “followers” to jump off a cliff.

Thankfully, they show him what they think of that. Watch. And pass the meme on, it’s quite amusing. Oh, and the title? It means (roughly) “Nazzo fast, Guido” (OK, I put the Guido in)

Gutted the second bathroom today

The original master bath of the 60 year-old project Kelly and I live in was somewhere in the neighborhood of 5’x8′. I blew that up and rearranged enough crap to make it a 12’x12′. Kelly’s happy with it, and the truth is, that’s the only thing that matters.

The hall bathroom/second bath/guest bath/ whatever the hell you want to call it, has been on my list since we moved in. It’s an average sized room for a second bathroom, about 7’x8′ or so. Standard 60″ tub, 60″ counter w/sink, complete with nasty cabinetry, and a crapper. Started this morning about 10am, pulling the cabinets, and oh joy, more african engineering from the asshole who owned the dump before Kelly and I bought the place. He was obviously a huge fan of that Liquid Nails bullshit, cause that unholy crap is everywhere ya look. Cocksucker even used that shit to glue a 4’x5′ mirror to the sheetrock over the sink, and yeah, I did leave some blood on the floor before I was finished.
The bath was paneled in Early American Disgusting, but with the help of my trusty pry/wrecking bar, I had the entire place completely disassembled in under a couple of hours. When I say disassembled, I mean everything out, including all of the old paneling, along with the sheetrock behind it, everything. Nothing left in that room but wallstuds, exposed plumbing, and electrical wires.
The electrician will be in Wednesday, as well will be the chimney sweep, (yep, Og, it’s still here), and the A/C crew. Yeah, seems the 25 year-old turd that was heating and cooling this dump finally bit the dust. The compressor froze solid, and ain’t ever turning again.

Last bit, yeah… Kelly and I are doing our part to move this economy forward, like we had a choice.

In case I have any collectors out there

I’m selling off a nice item here:

It’s the real deal, according to my military buff friends.
