Sighting a scope is just not that hard.
Put a sheet of cardboard up at 50 yards, with one self adhesive dot close to
The middle.

Rest your rifle on a sled or non shifting sandbags. Pull the bolt. Sighting down the barrel, adjust the rest until the barrel points at the dot. Adjust the scope until the crosshairs point at the dot. A laser boresighter will work if you cant siggt down the bore.

Now take one shot, crosshairs on the dot. Settle the crosshairs back on the dot. Move the crosshairs to the bullethole you just made. You are now at moment of deer. Sheesh people.

or the harvesting or what the hell it is but I spent most of today in a good deal of head pain and dizziness.

Found out today that the last man of my fathers generation died on Thursday. He was 82, the oldest male member of the clan ever.

Stone cold cracker, and a family of stone cold crackers, G-d love them all. I have seen some of them on episodes of COPS, I have bailed more than one of his descendants out of jail, but they are a family and despite all their lack of polish- and indoor plumbing- they love each other and are gentle people. Like my dear od friend and confidant Mlle Jenny says, there are a powerful lot of high toned people who haven’t figured that out.

The PPX is still shooting like a champ. I bought an UpLula for it, since loading double stack mags is a pain, and frankly? I wish I had had it much sooner. Pounding through 100 rounds was painfully fast (I then wished I had brought another 200) and after about the first twenty I actually started to be able to shoot it and hit stuff. I still aspire to suck at it, but it’s less horrible than before.

Helped a friend get settled into a new rifle and scope. He’s got no vision to speak of in his right eye, and through experimentation we have discovered that with high scope rings he can get a decent cheek weld and look through the scope with his left eye. I did ten rounds with it myself, five with the right and five with the left, it turns out I can shoot pretty good left eyed. Certainly, it gives one pause, if you ever lost your eye could you shoot a rifle? Turns out I can.
