The dog has gotten increasingly adept at opening the gate at the kitchen. At first yoiu didn’t have to latch it, just close it. Then you had to latch it. THen the dog ate the pin that links the lift to the latch, and latching it made little difference.
Now the dog knows to lift the arm and pull back the latch with his paw. So I drilled a couple holes in the arm and put on a bungee cord. Then he learned to chew off the bungee cord.
All in order for him to make his way into the magical, mystical, forbidden kitchen.
Where no food is stored in lower cabinets anyway, and the best he can do is graze the floor for accidentally dropped Crunch Berries.
See, we used to have the gate up predominantly to keep the cat from trying to eat the dog. Cooney loved to annoy Max, right up to the end.
Guess it keeps him from getting bored while we’re at work.
about Vman’s blog is the shot of Tuco on the sidebar. “So goes Tuco, so goes Velociworld” he has stated, and he’s right.
Whatever the hell that means.
Anyway it occurs to me, in passing, that Tuco and Velociworld have a stunning sort of relativity to our world.
Hundreds of times, the scumbags put the rope around our necks. Hundreds of times, the rope comes tight, and you can feel the devil pulling at your heels. Hundreds of times, Blondie pulls the trigger. Each time, the cut is less clean, the rope is firmer, longer.
And finally one time Blondie comes to the conclusion that we are no longer worth the bullet.
We have Blondie in our sights, and maybe we can even smell the color of his fear as we watch him squirm. And then he steals the secret of our treasure, and expects us to treat him well until he gets us to the grave.
Fuck him. There is always more gold. Revenge is tastier than the biggest sacks of cash.
We stayed, as I’ve mentioned, in a rented house. This minimized our contact with hotels, and it also gave us better dining choices- we had dinner one night at a great thai place and another at a brazillian steakhouse. This made for interesting evenings- the thai was spicy and nearly killed us and the steak was voluminus and- you guessed it- nearly killed us. Only the lack of woodwork in the typical Vegas tract house architecture prevented us from self immolating.
I was most impressed by the non-gun folks. The ammo people are doing amazing things, and the survival/foods/accessory stuff was amazing. Most interesting to me was the Brass Magnet, which is on my buy list soon- but I wish I had gotten one at the show special price!
