Many of my good friends

do not “do” Christmas.

I understand. Christmas is a depressing holiday, for a lot of adults. A lot of people have hard Christmas memories, and the music and decoration and commercialized glee only accentuate the roughness of those memories past. I have a few memories of my own that I don’t like dredged up.

On the flipside of that, though, is the way those people have always treated me. As much as they seem like Grinches to everyone else, they are my dearest freiends, and their friendship and often boundless generosity are more than I deserve or have ever done anything to warrant.

So for the handful of friends I have who for their own reasons choose not to make a big deal out of Christmas, preferring the company of friends and their friendship to the forced observance of a sometimes painful holiday….

Yours is the Christmas I prefer, as well. Possibly the only true Christmas. I hope I can be a good enough friend to deserve your friendship.

Another couple of inches of Global Warming

has fallen and I’ll have to take out early to get it off the truck before i make the 4 minute drive to the plant.

I tend to leave a bit early anyway and drive around long enough to let the truck get up to temp before parking.

I cannot wait to see the backside of this gig, I cannot.

In case anyone wondered

what the point of the post below was, it’s that nobody in their right mind gives a damn if you’re gay.

The qualifications you need to serve in the military are physical and mental, and not sexual, in nature. Making homosexuality a protected class and assigning homosexuals special priveleges that are not given to the rank and file is wrong, just like changing entrance and acheivement requirements for specific individuals is wrong.

A level playing field means a level playing field. It does not mean different things for different people.
