Your humble narrator, last week.

I don’t tell people I’m going on vacation, as a general rule, (well, except my employer) so I’ve been having my evil minions deal with the workload here in my absence. Well, maybe just naughty minions. Yes, I have minions, shut up about it. Anyway, I spent the last nine days soing what you see above, laying facedown in the waters of Lake Huron, snoring through a snorkel. I do this every year. I lay in the water and sleep, a brick tied around my foot so I don’t drift away. Last year someone thought I was a floater and called the Coast Guard. Three years ago, I was rescued, rather against my will.

Where I go, there are no computers. No fax machines. No cellphone coverage to speak of. Barely electricity.

What there is, is water. The drill is this: swim. Float. Play with daughter. Stay in the lake till you get blips (blips is 8 yearoldspeak for Blue Lips) Trudge through the sand to the cottage and lie naked on the bed drying off while reading. Drift off to sleep. I read 23 novels in 9 days. I never once saw a CRT, a weblog, or an email. It was heavenly.

Now I’m back and tickled to be. Let’s all go shoot something!!

I have been having trouble with mail so by all means if I have excluded you, let me know, and I’ll fix. BTW, if you sign up and don’t get to shoot, nobody will visit your home and do donuts on your front lawn with a 4×4, so don’t fret.

Tanya & Mamamontezz say they’ll shoot a 22 handgun. If the ladies can hit an A-36 with a pistol at 50 feet well enough to score I WILL NOT ARGUE with them, though we will keep them in a separate category.

Update: As I have forgotten to list Kim’s son, I should make this clear; I’ll accept targets submitted by the above list and their family members, I’m sure Kim isn’t the only one to fit this situation.
