Getting to the wire

Look, lots of better and brighter folks than I are giving people political advice. I’m the neanderpundit, remember? I have such a low level of political savvy I wouldn’t pretend to give anyone advice that was meaningful, except this:

If you listen to the mainstream media and what they say about any political candidate, you have already lost. The media has but one purpose, and that is to manipulate you to do their will. This is as true of Hannity as it is of Rather. As true of Limbaugh as it is of ABC, NBC, the Washington Post, the New York Times.

Granted: the overwhelming majority of the media is (by it’s own admission) hard left. Hannity, Snow, Rush, never claim to be reporters, only pundits.

I don’t listen to or read any of them, at least not without a liberal dose of salt.

I have looked hard at the political situations in the world. I understand from personal experience what a threat Islam (as it is being practiced) is to America.
I have made it a practice to locate and view as many sides of every story that I can get my hands on. I don’t flatter myself to be exceptionally well informed, but I have a perfect bullshit detector, and it’s turned up to 11 right now.

I don’t know if George Bush has made every right decision but I know that every decision he has made has been hard and he takes them all very personally and very, very seriously. I know every soldier that dies hurts his heart. I know that he does not will that any human being die, and he does every single thing he can to prevent every death he can. I know that America is a better place because of his first term, and it will stay secure and be even better if he gets a second. I hope to God, for the sake of myself and my child, that he does.

That’s all I’m going to say about that.

P.S. Anyone who comes along and pisses in the comments will have their IP posted, their comment cragerised to display their ignorance, and be banned. If you want to argue, do it someplace else. This is my blog. Wipe your dirty feet before you come in.

if lance can,

last weekend, having saved a couple bucks from home improvement projects, I went out and bought a bike.

I am a big guy, and I didn’t want to end up with some wal-mart wonder that I’d destroy in a week, I wanted something that would bear my weight and last as long as possible. I ended up with this, which is a comfortable nice bike. I’m quite pleased, as I can sit upright and ride it, and I don’t look too ridiculous. I’ve only ridden a few times, and the cardio workout is about all I can handle! The point is to get my wind back, and while there are other ways, this is the only one, so far, that hasn’t pissed me off.

The other reason I chose cycling is this yellow band on my wrist. If Lance Armstrong can overcome testicular cancer to beat the smelly bike pants off all those french bastards in the Tour De France, by god, I can ride around my block a couple times, improve my health, maybe lose a pound or two.

At least, I hope so. I have to do SOMETHING.

Terri OBrien said, on the radio this morning, that Genetics load the gun, behavior pulls the trigger. This is true, I think, of alcoholisim, drug dependency, risk of disease, obesity. It’s a damned true thing. I will try.

Pitiably
