Trinny and Susannah are revamping the wardrobe of Cabdriver Rose.
WILL THE TWO OF YOU GET THE FUCK OUT OF PEOPLE’S LIVES? ROSE LOOKS GOOD IN THE JEANS, LEAVE HER THE FUCK ALONE. Jesus H Ditchdigging Christ on a Turbine Powered Pogo Stick. Let’s see: Let’s take an average person and see if we can teach her to dress JUST LIKE US!
“we know that rose has spent 928 pounds on her new wardrobe. let’s see if she’s spent it according to our advice” How about she keeps her own wardrobe, spends the 1000 pounds on a rifle, and shoots the two of you meddlesome busybody yentas in the head?
I wear black. I wear bluejeans when I’m working and likely to get filthy. Otherwise i’m like a fat Johnny Cash. Anyone comes to me and says “you need to change your wardrobe and here’s $2500 to do it”, I’m gonna take the money and punch them right in the head, and keep doing it until they fall down.
The same goes for the goddamn home improvement shows. These “designers” that wade in and paint your living room to look like a south american whorehouse? those guys start pulling up my driveway, I hope they have deer-slug resistant glass windshields, because that’s what they’re gonna be seeing. And the only thing they’ll be changing is their shorts.
genetically, I mean. I believe, more and more, that there are genetic patters, or at least origins, to behavior. There are things I cannot do, or develop an interest in, and there are things I can do without thinking about it, and it’s often the case that I learn a new task more quickly than anyone simply because it interests me and I absorb it quicker. I now also believe that there are some things that overlap, and some that rarely do. Frinstance: I’ve only met a few mechanics that were decent musicians. You rarely see a guy who doesn’t like sports, but if you do, the odds seem to be that he/she reads voraciously. more so, in fact, than almost anything else. I don;’t have any proof of this beyond the immediate circle of people I know, but the more I learn about bloggers it seems that there are some definite correlations. Why, I have no idea. Still.]
Anything you notice about overlaps/exclusions in talents among your friends?
it sure seems that way, anyway. This week, though I’m on vacation, I’m helping a onetime customer and now good friend do some maintenance on some machinery in his plant. It’s not like side gigging so much as it is spending time with a bud and getting paid to do so. And I enjoy the work a great deal. yesterday, I wasn’t able to get there because I had a car ripped to pieces in my garage, belonging to my nephiew, and he wasn’t likely to be able to fix it himself. So I stayed home and helped him hammer that out, from 9 AM to ten PM.
Thing is, as much as it beats me up, I enjoy it a lot. I am always doing something, and I cannot imagine anyone who isn’t. How do you sit on your ass all day? When I go on vacation I’m invariably fixing something, be it a messed up showerhead or a recalcitrant door latch.
When I’m visiting the inlaws, they always have something for me to fix A sister in law, nearly ten years ago, asks me ‘can you figure out why my tree lights don’t work” christmas eve. I look a bit and find that the lights are plugged in to the socket on the end of their own string, and NOTHING is plugged into the wall. I correct this, and the tree lights up in miniature light splendor. She thought i was God. I’ve never not been working on something, and I cannot imagine anyone who sits all day, would drive me insane.
