One of the earworms included in the previously mentioned “Super 70’s explosion” is “Spirit in the Sky” which is, in my mind, a great, great song, with the wrong lyrics.
Great intro, great bass, great distorted guitar. And then sappy syrupy lyrics about some generic god-spirit who will clutch us tightly to his bosom when we die if we’re good. What crap.
With that music, this is how the lyrics SHOULD sound:
“I’m gonna kill your mother
your father too
Then I’m coming back
to waste YOU.
You’re whole family’s gonna die
I’m gonna send ’em up to the spirit in the sky!”
Add your own.
ain’t what it used to be.
Wait, maybe it is. I’m watching an infomercial with Barry Williams called “the 70’s music explosion”
Good lord.

yes, folks, 150 of the worst earworms money can buy. All brought to you with the help of Barry Williams and Erica Shaffer. And the video clips- Sweater vests, mullets, the Starland Vocal Band, Harry Chapin. Dancing that makes Roy Orbison look spastic. Pants so tight that John Ford Coley has cameltoe. What the fuck were we thinking?
The bike is running, and looks like it’s gonna be fine.
Sunday I went to where it’s brother was parked in a DUMPSTER, and snagged a lot of spare parts, including the whole electrical harness, the engine, all the electronics, gauges, cables, wheels. Discovered that what was causing it to run erratically was a loose connector, and resolved that, now it starts in seconds and runs out nicely. I’m gonna probably have to buy some tires but otherwise I still have less than $100 invested.
