close by here today; not close by enough that it’s a come and go thing, we’ll have to drive a couple hours. But it will be the first time we’ve seen her since August.
She has been eating from the school’s lavish cafeteria for a couple months now, and has been wearing the same very tight clothes she went to school with. And she hasn’t spent a dime of the cash in her account, which means she hasn’t gained the freshman 15.
I suppose fencing and powerlifting four days a week plus tournaments is going to affect that but I’m particularly pleased. And I’m happy to be able to see her again as she may not be able to come home for thanksgiving.
for obsessive handwashing as a precaution against typical germs. I figure the germ that has my name on it will show up some other way.
On the other hand, I deal with chemicals every day. Some of them are fairly harmless but some of them are really miserable.
Synthetic coolants are coolants and cutting fluids designed to mix with clean water to provide lubrication and temperature reduction of cutting tools in machines, some people also use oils- certain types of oils contain chlorinated paraffin to prevent the “Welding” effect of hot metal back onto the freshly cut surface of the material and that chlorinated paraffin is some ugly stuff.
So after a day of working inside a machine you get dirty, and wet. And your hands are soaked in whatever coolant or other fluids the machine contains. Sometimes you can wear rubber gloves but not often.
And now you have to pee.
You’d better damned well get your hands clean before you grab Mr Happy because if you don’t he won’t be so happy anymore.
Many’s the time I’ve spent dancing because I had to go and the water in the sink was ice cold, but I knew I had to get the crap off my hands or I would be sorry.
One of my customers just learned this lesson. Poor bugger. He’s got some kind of a rash now on his nether regions, and it is persistent, and it causes him not a little discomfort. He won’t do THAT again.
I have always loved them, but in recent years they made Max pretty upset. He would be OK, so long as I stayed with him.
Suppose he’ll never have to worry about that again.
Still, I put the can with his ashes on the nightstand.
