New birth
Democracies are born in blood. Well, a lot of them are, anyway. None of them come easy, and some of them are born only to wither and die again. Think, Weimer germany, in 1933. , India in the 70’s, Chile, Argentina, brasil.
We have, as a nation, performed the act of midwife. Instead of destroying a nation, as was clearly within our capability to do, we spared the innocent, and helped give birth to a democracy. With a lot of hard work, and a lot of help from it’s friends, the new democracy can grow and blossom into a good and wonderful thing, a citizen at large of the democratic nations of earth. God bless the new democracy. God keep and guide it’s new leaders. God protect it’s citizens, and God stay the hand those who would injure it.

Look for the thugs to keep targeting Americans and Iraqis who work with us in an attempt to drive us out of the area.
Only after we are gone will they put the pressure on to make Iraq a fundamentalist Moslem state.
Rich
amen.
Indeed.

Damn, I dig that thought.
