Apparently, I’ve been living under a big rock
where no new music can get in. Today, on the way home from Detroit, I hear this song by KT Tunstall. Very hooky, very energetic, very reminiscent (in some ways)of MArshall Crenshaw. I don’t catch enough “regular” music to like too much of it, but I’m going to check this woman out. Pretty easy on the eyes, too.

I didn’t know Andy Dick was a drummer. Hmmmph!
Watched it, still don’t know who she is.
me neither, but I could listen to her music a lot, I think.
I don’t get it. Maybe I’m just hopelessly unhip.
She performed on The Tonight Show back in June on the same show that Ann Coulter was promoting “Godless.” (see this photo).
Sad to report she’s not one of those artists who can just shut up and sing. She had tacked on her guitar a note which read “this guitar kills fascists.” I’m reasonably sure she wouldn’t know who are the fascists today.
I’d like to get her to swing her guitar at me. I’d then explain to her what a fascist was, and while I had her pinned under my enormous ass I could feel her up.
(shudders)
What?
I don’t know anything about her politics. Maybe we’re lucky and she means the REAL fascists.
Og, behave yourself. And I saw her first. LIterally.
Yea, the thing is, everything sounds like something else now. She’s good, but what i thought immediately was that her voice sounded just like Lulu. You know, “To Sir With Love”? Remember when Crenshaw played Buddy Holly in “La Bamba”? Never hear much from him anymore. Last time I got all jazzed about a new band was about a decade ago when I heard Tool for the first time. Check em out. Probably not yer cup of tea though. My favorite thing to do now is to discover some old music that I didn’t know about before, like some old Buck Owens or Ella. Huge treasure chest to mine. New music bores the shit outa me.
The “This Guitar Kills Fascists” is a direct quote from Woody Guthrie, so you can pretty much guess she’s a commie.
But I have to agree with Og, I like the album.

OMG! Just looked at the picture from the Tonight Show. Ann Coulter and George Carlin! I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall of the green room.

She’s K.T. Tunstall, by the way
ain’t that what I said?
As a matter of fact, it is.
You expect reading comprehension or something? For some reason Dick’s ‘don’t know who she is’ stuck in my mind.
