Finally
After trying to get three old strings of lights to work, I went to Home Despot to get brand new ones. Got all the icicle lights clipped to the gutters in front and am ready for another season of cheer. Glad to get that behind me, damn.
Anyway, we’re happy to be past thanksgiving and on our way to Christmas.

ROFLMAO! No worries, Commandress. You can be anyone you want to be here.
I’d almost rather have a good beating than go to Home Despot. Laid out by cretins and staffed with the intellectually challenged.
Lowe’s, while not wonderful, is quantum leaps ahead of HD. At least most of Lowe’s staff speak intelligible English and don’t drool on themselves.
What sucks is when you think you’ve got a few good strings of lights after testing them and you proceed to hang em up.
After all is said and done one strand in the middle goes dead.
When Alger and I had “new service” to the house completed, my one wish was for an exterior outlet. We’re going to have Xmas lights for the first time in a zillion years.Running the cord through an unlocked door or an unlocked window was unwise, to say the least.I’m actually excited about a few strings of lights.I guess that I need to get out more !

You’re a better man than I, og. I opened up the jumbo box ‘o’ icicle lights yesterday. Plugged in each and every strand to check to make sure they were working. Every single f**king one was only half-lit.
Every single strand went into the garbage.
I’ll get new ones after Christmas when they’re cheap. This year we’ll have to make do with the 7,000 other lighted Christmas gee-gaws my wife insists I put out… (yet just let me insist my wife put out and… well, you get the idea…) ;)
I was lucky; Home Despot had the lights on sale for $5, and i needed 5 strings. So after doingt he dance of fucked up lights, I just went out and bought five new strings.
We did the same thing this year. I saw the tell-tale signs of the dreaded: “Aww f*ck! I gotta try to make these things WORK?” attitude coming on, and asked Tallman to go to Lowe’s and replace every broken line instead.
And it was a good day.
Three words:
LED
Whoohoo! Lights are nice! :-)
I won’t get on my roof.
Any volunteers? **bats eyelashes and gives up**
