The good news
Archery is like a bicycle.
yeah, it’s been a hundred thousand years since I shot a bow, but I apparently still have the ability. My new bow ROCKS! Between the morning and afternoon hunting sessions I spent some time at the archery range, and I can still put them in the X ring, though my skills could use some tuning out at 40 yards.

Archery! I used to love that!
Dropped the hobby when the archery range moved sowhere far from my workplace :o
Just start shooting people out your apartment window, Fiona.

Note to self – don’t piss off Og.
Or at least do it from a safe distance :-)
40 yards is a long shot w/ a bow.
Keep it under 30 for a clean kill.
At forty yards, after twenty years of not shooting at all, I could put it in a fifteen inch circle. If I get a shot at all, I’ll be happier with something like 20 yards. I’m not going to wound an animal.
Oh my! I haven’t done archery since I was a kid. I enjoyed it, but my arms aren’t very strong… so I prefer the rifle range. LOL.
Had the oddest argument with a woman I know. She was into competative archery – loved it with a passion, but hated guns and said they were just made to kill people.
I asked her what she thought a bow and arrow were meant to do… She said and I quote, “Oh that’s different”.
I kid you not – she is (of course) a lunatic lefty. LOL.
It is a good feeling, eh, Og?
A few years ago, a rabbit was near my garden. Grabbed the .410, sneaked up, & the asshole neighbor drove his riding mower into my backdrop. Sneaked away, got the bow, which at the time I hadn’t shot in over a year. Drew, fired, &…put the arrow a foot in front of the rabbit. Not a successful shot, but I was pleased to come that close, being rusty and all; especially as the range was about 20-25 yards.
