Red Adair dead at 89
Red Adair has left us.
When I think of men, real men, I think of Red. Even the movie- John Wayne plays Red as only a man that large could.
From his website: “He participates generously by giving of both his time and financial assistance to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, the Arabian Temple Cripple Children and Burn Institute, the Leukemia Society of America, the Easter Seal Society, the Epilepsy Association and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. ”
No, he wasn’t just a guy who put out fires. He was everything a man should be. Strong, tough, protective of his family and friends AND employees- (he never had an employee get seriously wounded on a job)- and a humanitarian to boot.
His career started when he stayed and capped a well everyone else ran away from. Chrome plated inconel balls.
The world is not as good without Red Adair. Mourn him, but mourn more, that nobody can step into the breach he left.
