It’s snowing. It’s thirty degrees.
There’s no wind. If you cannot stand outside your car for the six minutes it takes to gas it up, you are a pussy.

I agree.
Uh hell, if you dont just take a minute outside to look up at gods greatest decoration of this earth, on his day, you arent much of a person.
Ha! Even I can do that!
You realize of course that it’s against the law to leave the nozzle unattended while fueling the vehicle.
It’s against good common sense, too, but that’s beside the point.
Wish it would get that warm around here; it’s 10:00 AM and 13 degrees. If we’re lucky it might get up to the mid twenties.
Just this morning I was gassing up the car and I quit at 1/2 a tank because it was too damned cold outside.
I’m a pussy and proud of it.
Just wondering what particular event inspired this post.
Although I suppose I can probably guess :-)
LOL! Last coldsnap we had was around -30 or so for a week or two. When it got back up to zero, guys were strolling around in teeshirts. Guess it’s all relative…
I spent a winter in Green Bay two years ago. No, gasp, it was almost 3 now. Got down to 5 below a few times, and that’s before the wind chill.
They ought to take those hold-open widgets off of the pumps. The throughput is high enough now that you’re done in a couple of minutes anyway. Pay at the pump, and the whole job, boom to zoom, is done in under three minutes.
Anyway, I’m still taking off the coat before getting in the car, since it’ll warm up in a few anyway, so why have the quilted coat on like a human twinkie if I don’t need to.
And people are huddling while fueling. Wow. I remember fueling next to a woman I knew who was still dressed from indoor soccer, coat on but still in shorts and knee high socks, all still dripping wet, filling the tank in ten degree weather.
I set the thermostat to 62 nights, 56 days, but roast when I go to my aunt’s 78 degree house.
jesus, 78? that would kill me.
Too much frost bite to the face. Temp below 30 and wind over twenty per and I’m in the car. Nothing left to prove so I don’t try. I might make another 13 with that attitude and the get the son out of the house.
Uggh
Eh. I have enough facial hair that unless the windchill is around -30 I’m fine.
Have to have a hat though. The baldness lets the heat out way too quick :)
68 in the winter, 72 in the summer (just to save money). And 64 at night in the winter. Before I got married I kept it even lower in the winter.
Winter makes Sally crazy, but even in the summer she complains. She’s never warm enough, partly because she works in a place (therapy pool) where the air is 85 degrees all day, and the pool is 89. I go over there and damn near expire from heat exhaustion within 5 minutes…
I like the hold-opens because I can wash my rear window while the gas pumps. I don’t get back in the car.
I once saw the aftermath of a guy getting in a van to pump gas into a gas can in the van. Yes, he blew up his van and the pump. Luckily for him, he wasn’t seriously injured.
