Jay Marvin
Earlier today, I wrote a host at our local talk station (WLS AM Chicago) to take him to task for his constant harping against Bush.
Jay is a decent guy. He’s a communist/socialist but he’s got his head out of his ass on a lot of issues. I like his show because he’s entertaining and funny, and he has had his share of personal troubles, which, on air, are compelling radio.
Lately, he has engaged in some serious bush bashing, mostly just standard party line rhetoric. I’m not sure he even realizes he’s doing it.
I have put this post here because I’d like to engage him in some conversation. I have directed him here, and I hope that he will come and talk a while. I understand if he doesn’t, but I also think it would be good blogging, of the type I originally hoped I’d be able to do.
Stay tuned. If Jay shows up, it’ll be great- if not, I think I’ll delete this post and forget it.
Good luck in getting Jay to come by, he is interesting and good radio. I don’t always agree with him. And I think he gets locked in on some things but I get the feeling he will when the passion goes down a bit, at least take a look at a well reasoned arguement. His view on the cops and 2nd amendmenr are spot on…and I can’t say as I disagree with his view of the mayor either.
Long time LS listener here too, Don and Roma , and Roe are my two favorites.
I used to listen to Jay when he was on the air in the Tampa Bay market about 10 years ago. I thought he was dead, to tell you the truth.
He won’t come to your blog to debate because he’ll only debate where he controls the format. Yes, he knows alot about the underbelly of American History, but is seemingly clueless about the underbellies of socialism, communism, fascism, and the Democrat Party. It’s not surprising to hear he’s been coopted by the left’s talking points trash — with his mentatily he’d be very vulnerable to it.
After the Bush landslide he’ll act like he never said that, never went there, knew it all along, etc. He is never wrong — just ask him.
But he is probably the best at Left Radio. I wonder why he’s not on Air America?
