Modern technology ROCKS!
In my car is a little piece of paper with the name of a young couple printed on it, a remembrance of their special day. No, I didn’t attend their wedding, but I got a memorial just the same. So I’m reminded to post about it here.
As I was hunting last fall I stumbled across a largish pile of crap far away from civilization- or at least as far away as you can get in an Indiana forest preserve. I approached and discovered it was a cluster of brightly colored balloons that had once been filled with helium. Attached to the balloon, yards and yards of polyester ribbon, and attached to the ribbon, plastic badge holders with the pieces of paper on it.
Great! Now we don’t even have to VISIT the great outdoors to leave the detritus of our daily lives amidst the wild, we can use MODERN TECHNOLOGY and send our shit places we cannot go ourselves.
Fucktards.

When I was a kid in school we filled out post cards with our addresses on them, attached them to balloons and sent them off hoping someone would find it, and return the card telling us where the balloons got to. Was this something like that or was it just some balloons that escaped?
like that. except hundreds.
Sounds like a outdoor wedding decoration gone bad. When I was a kid, we tied a bunch of helium balloons to a Barbie doll. That would have been around 1960 Boy, were our mothers ever pissed off.Wish I still had the doll. It would be worth a great deal now.
swmbo
I did the message in a bottle thing when I was a kid.
I suppose a whale could’ve swallowed the bottle and choked on it.
But damn, a mountain of balloons? What a crappy thing to stumble across in the middle of the woods. It’s like that smudge of paint that ruins a masterpiece.
For some odd reason this reminds me to do an “in the Jungle with my M-16 at my knees crapblog.”
You know, the one where I accidentally crapped on the reciever and magazine of my weapon in the dark.
Yeah, it was that fucking special considering I didn’t realise it until I smelled shit.

A $250 fine for letting your balloon go.
