Sometimes I do so love playing whack a troll
From comments below, for the edification of the spineless retard in question, and for the amusement of my readers.
“Consensus is not science.”
Talk about a blatant non sequitur. Actually, calling that statement a non sequitur gives it too much credit. How about a “meaningless series of words strung together by an imbecile trying to sound smart.â€
let’s see: Non sequitur, you ignorant pusbag, means “it does not follow”. Of course, it does follow, because the commentor describes “scientific consensus” which, of course, is utter nonsense. To say that ‘consensus is not science” is the specific and carefully chosen phrase that describes what the commentor doesn’t understand, which is, at the heart of the matter, is that Consensus is merely an agreement to belive a specific thing. “belief” is not science. Witness that at one time there was a “scientific consensus” that the earth was flat. A “Scientific consensus” that ozone was good for asthma sufferers. a “scientific consensus” that we were on the brink of a new ice age. a “scientific consensus” that the world’s entire supply of fossil fuels would be exhausted by 2004. No, a “consensus” would be an agreement between a group of people to behave in a particular way, for instance, or believe a specific theory. And there is no “consensus” among scientists on the issue of global warming because the “scientists” that arrived at the “consensus” disregard and ignore anyone who disagrees with them. For there to be a consensus, it requires- here, this from Wikipedia is a good quote: “Achieving consensus requires serious treatment of every group member’s considered opinion”. Guess the consensus just eliminated all dissentors from their group.
Do you know the first thing about the philosophy of science?
Um, no. Nobody does, because there isn’t such a thing. there is philosophy, based in belief, and there is science, based in observable fact. You believe in global warming, and like all recto-cranial inverts, you feel free to attempt to enforce your beliefs on others. I have facts- and science- at my disposal, rather than belief, and of course, i know you are wrong.
Are you even remotely acquainted with the phrase “scientific consensus
Why, yes, yes I am. It’s a shibboleth created by the left to sell the idea that capitalism should be destroyed to save mother Earth. It’s moonbat insanity at it’s worst.
Ever heard of “peer review,â€
Why, yes, yes I have. have you? “Peer review” means opening your scholarly work to the scrutiny of other experts in the field. And not once has any “expert” in the global warming field ever submitted his work to anyone not part fo the Global Warming cabal, because the facts simply do not support thir assertions, and they know it. Period.
fucktard? Heh heh, he said fucktard, Beavis.
Boo Hoo! he called me a fucktard! how original. Next.
Oh please, educate us further on global warming, Mr. Consensus-Is-Not-Science.
Frankly, you are incapable of being educated, as far as I can see.
This is hilarious.
yes, yes on this we can achieve consensus. the earth is billions of years old, we have had thermometers for 500 years, and we know the earth is heating up because of a sample so statistically insignificant it wouldn’t be a blip on anyone’s radar. Most hilarious thing I’ve heard, every time I hear it it’s funnier and funnier.

I’m kind of on Bjorn Lomborg’s side here — the earth is probably warming (although it hasn’t warmed too much since the end of WWII), but it isn’t man that’s causing it, and it’s not as bad as the folks who want to destroy the US economy would like us to believe.
I’m holding out for it being due to a temporary increase in the solar constant, which we know has fluctated back and forth for billions of years (has your fucktard ever heard of the Medieval Warm Period, for instance, which was even warmer than it is today? Interestingly enough it was also a period of high solar constant).
I found the Channel 4 documentary The Great Global Warming Swindle quite educative when all was said and done…which will probably leave said fucktard tearing his hair and wailing that it goes against “scientific consensus”.
The only scientific consensus I’ve ever been aware of is that they all agree they need more money.
This is me, nodding my head in agreement with you and jumping up and down in frsutration at the Global Warming Moonbats!
The polar ice caps on Mars are melting now. Are you sure you didn’t leave the Exploder idling on Mars during your last visit Og ? Temps are rising on Jupiter and even Pluto.
Globes all over the solor system seem to be warming. Therefore, it must follow, that the warming of our particular globe must be caused by man and his fossil fuels. The dipsticks squealing the loudest seem to have an economic interest in “the solutions to the crisis”. And you know it is a crisis.
The planet has a fever. It coudn’t be the increased solar radiation from the sun.
I really, really love it when you rip someone a new one!
Hehehehehe… excellent Og.
This Einstein wannabe is saying that correlation = causation. His thought processes have been addled by changing his diet so many times whenever the next “consensus” is reached on what kind of diet is good for you.
Good stuff here, I wish I were better educated and more articulate so I could bash the green wienies as well as you. Green is the new home for communists in the west. I don’t think any of these idiots would last a week without modern power(fueled by oil and nuclear) and the products produced by that power.
The polar ice cap thingy on Mars?
I did that.
no, no, I did the Mars polar ice cap thingy with my massive farts caused by drinking shitty beer and eating chili-with beans. And I drove my Daddy’s pink cadillac all the way with the AC set to full blast. F’ing 2 miles to the gallon, Baby!
Whoever would have guessed a conversation about global warming could leave me aroused?
Watching these beat-downs is like the town drunk (troll) going after a Golden Gloves champ (Og). We always know how it ends, yet we still watch to see the machinery in action. They’re unarmed in the battle of wits. And it’s almost like the bullfight, leading the dumb bull back and forth in the hot sun, then getting the punal out and finally finishing it off.
Well done, Og.
Of course, I would expect nothing less.
Now you know why I have the comments rule I do. I may get fewer comments, but when Da Doll gets done whacking trolls, they retreat to their own closets to suck their thumbs.
Feel the ball. Be the ball.

Beating down an unsuspecting troll is a pleasure all its own.
I welcome them with open arms.
I dont even think we’ve had thermometers as long as 500 years. Reamur had the first one, followed by Fahrenheit, then Celsius from memory, so about 300years tops. You could argue that accurate measurement of temperature (fractions of a degree with repeatable results) goes back less than a century.
So please Mr Scientroll, quote me youre accurate temperature graphs from Roman times.
Holder, that’s disgusting! You eat chili with BEANS?
Ewwwwwww!
REAL CHILI DOESN’T HAVE BEANS!
There is such a thing as “philosophy of science”, though.
Epistemology is heavily involved.
Mind you, his idea that philosophy of science (and I bet he thinks Kuhn showed things he didn’t, too) somehow gets an out by which science as such really is done by “consensus” is false.
Temperature records are worthless, even from the last 100 years, because they are very sensitive to:
what side of the building were they taken on, what color was the building, what other buildings or landforms or trees are/were nearby, and (most obviously) what time of day were the temperature measurements taken? Los Angeles alone has undergone so much building in the last 100 years that the temperature records are worthless except for filler on the evening news after the
super wild ass guessesAccuweather forecasts (c) of tomorrows temperatures.I keep hearing about something called “average” temperature. What I’m not hearing is something called “standard deviation.” You know, that thingy that demonstrates how well the “average” describes the data set. Funny that.
Sigi, I think I’d call that more of a “philosophy of scientists”. But yeah, i get your meaning, and I think you’re right- dofus boy has no idea.
