Saw 300
It’s a shame that the lessons of history have to be taught via movie versions of comic books.
I never cry in movies. This one got to me. A damned good movie.
yeah, the historical portion of it is not completely accurate- of course, we can’t know what dialog occureed between the spartans. The description of the Spartan Phalanx is off, or was never meant to be accurate. At the core of it, the movie is true to this: An invading horde seeks to enslave a democratic group of free peoples. The free peoples are lulled to inaction by the traiterousness of those in it’s midst. A very few rough men defend the free with their lives. No more perfect analogy can be drawn to the situation today.

Netflix will get it sooner or later.
I thought that was pretty good, as movies went. Although I always take’em at face value only…
I haven’t seen it yet, with a four year old it’s hard to get to movies. But when I do see it, I’ll give it a good fisking. Not in a bad way, I always tear apart historical movies for inaccuracies, and I’m not talking dialog, because that’s too easy.
Way OT, but Og, did you see this story?
There must be more than a few of these characters driving around. Reminds me of why I like the country.
That story is interesting. I myself have been on the receiving end of a foaming-at-the-mouth-black-man-in-a-car.
I’m planning to cap the next one who tries it.
“300” rocked.
When I was reading your post I couldn’t help but think about the correlation between the present & the past. But, you covered that at the end. Figures. :D
