next postal match
This is the target. Download the file, print as many as you want, practice.
Again: I do not want your best target after you shoot fifty!! I want you to practice all you want, then tape up two targets and give me ten rounds at 25 feet.
Any pistol caliber. Score your own and mail the score to mhardig-at-aol.com
We are scoring the point of impact; if the center of the hole is in the nine ring but the border crosses the line, it’s a nine. The center of the hole is the operational bit. Shooting to take place this weekend, scores in by monday PM, scores posted tuesday. I expect at least one honest 100.
Oh, crap:
Iron sights. Unsupported. I’m gonna use a 22, but I’ll accept anything, as I said, the point of impact is the governing factor. Under 12″ barrel. Auto, revolver, anything’ll do.

That’s two rounds on each target, right?
no problem hitting those at 25 feet
The Ruger Mk IIs gonna put ten in the 10 spot.
I’ve got a lot of redemming to do, you posers better be ready . . .
I’ll post pics of my targets this weekend, when I am through.
If you want OG, I don’t mind hosting pics of everyones entry . . . if everyone wants to send some in.
This is standing @ 25 feet, correct?
A Challenge
Og, the Neanderpundit, has a challenge for us all. A new Postal Match. This is the target. Print it onto a 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper and fire away. Two shots per bullseye, 25ft, any pistol caliber, offhand, iron sights. Send the score to Og by the even…
Clarifications:
1: Print the target 8.5 x 11. The bullseyes will be 5/8″ diameter. That way everyone is shooting the same thing.
2: Always only one shot per bullseye, five shots per sheet, ten shots total.
3: Standing unless you’re in a wheelchair.
Thanks!
Aw, you stole my line. I was gonna ask if we could print it on 11×14 paper…
I don’t get it. This:
http://www.protargets.com/targets/half-inch-center-small-1.gif
is what the target has at the bottom when I print it, and the bull is indeed 1/2 inch in diameter when printed. You say the bull should be 5/8 inch in diameter. Should I scale by 125%, remove margins, and get most of it on the page?
Some have said that when they print the target it comes out to 5/8″.
All I can say, is do the best you can.
If you select “fit to page” with MS Photo editor software you get 5/8″ bulls. It all goes on an 8 1/2 x 11 just fine. Scaling should get you there too.

I think the bulls were supposed to be 1/2″.
The link is called “half-inch-center-small” so I’m guessing you’re right.
OG, you are, as they say, calling the shots, so I scaled my targets to have 5/8 inch bulls.
Is this with one hand or two???
K
Whatever position is comfy to you, Kirk, as long as it’s not from a rest or support (other than your other hand)
I missed this Sunday. Is the postal still open?
Tom, get your score in by tonight. I’ll be posting results in the morning. Remember to mail your score to mhardig-at-aol.com
Hmm, well if thats the case, I may head back out again this evening and try to top my previous score. . . . which, btw, I posted in these comments.
PLus, my offer still stands. If you want to post images of everyones target, I’ve got plenty of room to host them.
I don’t know if everyone has a scanner, but thanks- we may need that space soon.
