How do you define clusterfuck?
Well, this does a pretty good job.
I felt like a fucking heel. Get a car together for them and it dies no where near home.
On the one hand, had I taken the trans to my local guy (Widco) I know I would have gotten a better job. On the other hand, I took it to a chain place so they’d have warranty coverage down there, which turned out to be a good thing.
I’m glad it all turned out for the best. I stumble across a good deal once in a while, and this was one, but the agita I got over leaving Kim and Connie stranded in BF egypt made me insane.

Don’t feel too bad dude. when i turned wrenches for a living i once sent a guy down the road with a brand new $8900 7.3L powerstroke diesel engine in a pickup. He made it six miles before the oil pump drive gear shattered and shelled the brand new engine. Try and explain to the warranty company why they shuold pay for a $10,000 engine replacemnt when it onlymade it six miles.
Well, Og, if it makes you feel any better at all……I sent 400 baby dolls with no arms and/or legs out for a charity auction….
Talk about feelin’ like a heel……
From what Kim wrote the only way you could have known about the problem is to be omniscient and omnipotent. Last time I checked that job description is a little higher than your pay grade. You did a good thing for a friend and Murphy got a shot in. Don’t beat yourself up over what you can’t control.
yeah, Rey, but I’m all about customer service.
And it sounds like you provided that in spades, as well.
Oh, it’s good that you feel bad it happened, because otherwise you’d be a jerk. But you went above and beyond the call, IMO.
It happens sometimes, og.
I fixed a guys car once, carb and timing, and he came back at me a week later because the radio went all funky.
I eventually gave up trying to explain why the engine and radio problems were unrelated and re-wired the damn radio just so there wouldn’t be hurt feelings.
Your karma miles are intact.
I’ve never met you, but even I can tell you that you’re being too hard on yourself. However, were the roles reversed, I’d feel the same way.
